Living in Bartlesville, Oklahoma.
A city of about 38,000 in Washington County, in northeastern Oklahoma about eighteen miles south of the Kansas line. Frank Phillips and his brother started an oil company here in 1917 and the town still carries what that money paid for.

Architecture
Price Tower
Frank Lloyd Wright's only built skyscraper stands downtown on Dewey Avenue. Nineteen stories, finished in 1956. It closed to the public in 2024 and sold to a new owner in 2025, so for now it is mostly a building to look at rather than one to visit.
Parks
Sooner Park
Fifty-three acres with a pond, tennis courts, picnic tables and covered pavilions. The Play Tower in the middle of it, presented in 1964, is a fifty foot observation tower by Bruce Goff, and it is a genuinely unusual thing for a city this size to have.
Museum
Woolaroc
Twelve miles southwest on Highway 123. Bison and longhorn cattle roam the drive in, and the 50,000 square foot museum holds a serious collection of Western and Native American art.
Rides
Kiddie Park
A children's amusement park run by the Bartlesville Playground Association since 1947, at its present home in Johnstone Park on North Cherokee Avenue since 1953. Small rides, cheap tickets, and it opens seasonally, so check before you go.
Shopping
Groceries and errands
The Walmart Supercenter is at 4000 SE Green Country Rd. Washington Boulevard runs north to south through this side of town and carries most of the everyday shopping.
Work
The big employers
Phillips 66 and ConocoPhillips are two of the largest employers in Bartlesville, alongside the hospital, the school district, and a Walmart distribution center about fifteen miles south at Ochelata. The Phillips name is on a good deal of the place for a reason.
Getting around
Tulsa is 47 miles south
About an hour on Highway 75. That puts Tulsa International Airport, the concert venues and the bigger shopping within an easy evening trip.
Schools
Bartlesville Public Schools
The district covers most of the city, and a few neighboring districts reach the edges. Attendance boundaries change, so confirm the boundary for 4001 Sheridan Rd with the district before you rely on it.

4001 Sheridan Rd is a residential stretch on the east side of Bartlesville, about a quarter of a mile off Washington Boulevard.
